When I stumble on a blog, it’s hard to follow along with who is who if I don’t know the blogger personally. So this list is meant to honor all the wonderful characters who have walked in, out or stuck around our JennEric life.

 

~ THERE’S US ~

JENN/JENNIFER:  The loving Army wife / graphic designer / animal-lover who has followed her husband, Eric, half-way around the world…and hopefully back soon. When they met she was convinced she needed adventure in her life…and Eric never lets her forget it.

ERIC: The loving husband / US Army Staff Sargeant / World-of-Warcraft addict who married, Jennifer. He’s been affectionately knicknamed “Sgt H” by his soldiers who often fail to listen to his 13 years of Army wisdom.

MAGGIE MOO: Their one year-old bullmastiff who provides the comic-relief in their life. She’s 105 lbs. of fun – and stars in her own saga, “The Mighty Misadventures of Maggie Moo”….keep an eye on your toilet paper around her.

KITTEN: Their 10 year-old long-haired calico cat who…let’s just say…has a queen complex. She’s been around longer than that silly dog, hates to travel & graciously allows Jennifer & Eric to share in her life. She also plays the role of the arch-nemesis in “The Mighty Misadventures of Maggie Moo”.

~ AND OUR FAMILY, FRIENDS & CO-WORKERS~

Just enough information to help you understand the storyline, but not enough to violate anyone’s privacy*.

ALEX: Tall & tan - he’s an outspoken man who’s married to Amy. He’s very attached to his dogs, Jacks & Brady.

ALICIA: A great friend of Jennifer’s, found while stationed in Virginia, who has helped us out of many a jam to which we still owe her – big time!

AMY: Short, thin & very conversant in Korean – she & her husband Alex live next door to Joni & Dustin. She teaches English to Korean children.

BOCEPHUS: A rambunctious bulldog who’s tongue seems to be permenantly unhinged & hanging out the side of his mouth. He’s always ready to play & is owned by Joni & Dustin.

BRADY: A solid black male Border Collie mix – completely, totally & horribly obsessed with Maggie in a biblical sense, if you know what I mean. He whines when separated from her.

COCOA: A small &  demure little long-haired black dog. She’s always around – in the background – waiting for her opportunity for someone to pay attention to her. She’s owned by Felicity & Lawon.

DUSTIN: Not much is known about Dustin – he’s the quiet type. But we know he’s a warrant officer. He’s married to Joni & owns Bocephus.

ETHAN: That’s E-T-Hache-A-N (sorry, inside joke.) He’s a curious & very mechanically inclined 4 year-old in Texas.

FELICITY: Thin, pretty & tan – she’s the Kiwi neighbor (meaning she’s from New Zealand) married to Lawon. She’s new to Army life, new to being a dog owner & very proud of her first-ever crop of home-grown Cherry tomatoes. She & Lawon own Paco & Cocoa.

JACK: The unwitting father-figure Jennifer met while in Virginia. This man knows it all. He can diagnose the electrical problems of a 1959 Rancher without blinking an eye! He’s a Navy man though, but we don’t hold it against him.

JACKS: A very energetic Border Collie. He’s quite the Houdini, is also obessessed with Maggie (who on this block isn’t?)  & has a hard time remembering not to jump-up on people. But his owners, Alex & Amy, are working on that.

JANICE: A 30-something Korean woman who speaks amazing English. This non-stop dynamo runs her own real estate company & is very popular among American families looking to live off-post. She’s also terrified of dogs – big or small.

JONI: Short, waif-thin & freckel-faced – she & her husband Dustin live one building over. She’s a powerhouse packed into a tiny frame. She owns Bocephus, volunteers for anything & everything & teaches English to Korean children. Oh yeah – and she’s infatuated with Maggie & bound and determined to own her own bullmastiff as soon as they’re back in the states.

LAWON: Reserved, but friendly neighbor married to Felicity. They own Paco & Cocoa. He’s originally from Georgia and is thrilled that Maggie’s finally warming up to him so he can pet her.

LISA: Aye, Lisa! (As her mom says.) Lisa is one of Jennifer’s best friends back in Texas. She’s an incredibly beautiful, articulate & successful woman who has a unique dietary requirement for wherever she goes - ketchup.

LITTLE ONE: Well, that’s not technically her name – but that’s what we call her. She’s the custest little Korean dog that has the run of our housing compound & is owned by our landlord. She’s finally come to understand that Americans are actually great sources for real dog treats.

PACO: A daper little tan Chihuahua who just adores Maggie…in the biblical sense….and can’t seem to stop when he’s around her. He’s owned by Felicity & Lawon.
