But I'm back
 wrote this at 6:58 am

It wasn’t intentional. It wasn’t planned. But I needed a blog break.

Finding something humorous, compelling or downright weird to write about everyday is a lot more taxing than you might think.

Sometimes there’s just nothing humorous or compelling to talk about…weird?…

Ok, well – weird doesĀ happen from time to time.

But it’s winter in Korea and I’ve become a shut-in for all intents & purposes.

I’ve never lived anywhere where it snowed more than once in a blue moon….and I’m talking snow, hereĀ - not ice.

It’s snowed 3 of the last 7 days and we awoke this morning at 0500 (that’s ‘oh-five-hundred’ in military speak) to another 2 inches.

So other than bundling-up like the Michelin Man to walk Maggie every day, carrying our newly gifted hatchet outĀ to break-up the black dog’s water bowl every night and the ever-swelling size of my waistline there’s not been a whole lot interesting going on.

But I’m back…and bound & determined to find something interesting to write about.

So how’d Eric do on the snow quest?…

Pretty good, actually.

Not a single thing left unpurchased.

In fact, the opposite was true – showing just how different we are when it comes to shopping.

The list read:

  • frozen black-eyed peas (2 bags) – or dry beans if they don’t have frozen
  • dog chow (the green bag on the bottom shelf)
  • pig sticks
  • cereal (1 -2 boxes)
  • half-gallon of milk (fat-free / skim)
  • big marshmallows (in the baking aisle)
  • canned chicken (Swanson’s big can)
  • frozen pizza (the thin crust in the yellow box)

What he came back with was:

  • 2 bags of dried black-eyed peas & 2 cans of black-eyed peas
  • the dog chow
  • 3 bags of pig sticks
  • 2 boxes of cereal
  • 3 half-gallons of milk
  • 2 bags of big marshmallows
  • 6 cans of chicken
  • 3 frozen pizzas
  • …and…
  • 1 case of chocolatey YooHoo
  • 1 case of diet Sprite
  • 1 box of Monster drinks
  • 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 boxes of Dove’s peppermint bark

Love you, Babe – and thanks for the peppermint bark!

One lonely response

Sounds like you are stocked up for awhile … Diet Sprite and everything.
    I still think it’s love …. : )
    Miss You

So What Do You Think?
