Turns out Eric gets a 4-day weekend afterall.
The commanding officer fought like hell to get the guys time off & won. Whoo hoo!
So tonight…for the first time…in a very long time…Eric & I had a Friday night movie night.
I made baked rigatoni (since there’s no Italian restaurant to order take-out from) as we watched the Netflix that came in this week:
Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog: a short three-act musical written during last year’s writer’s strike in Hollywood. It was originally done for fun &Â released over the web (which is why I didn’t hear of it sooner). But it’s a great B-movie spoof that I definitely recommend if you’re feeling in an off-beat mood.
(The very first song…Laundry Day…is stuck in my head now.)

Then it was off to the theater on base to see District 9.
YOU HAVE TO GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

(Can you tell I really liked it?….)
Don’t let the ‘horror-esque’ movie poster throw you or the fact that it’s sci-fi…it’s absolutely brilliant & directed by Peter Jackson (Mr. Lord of the Rings himself).
I was completely sucked-in to the story line & it kept going places you didn’t expect -Â all while convincing you almost absolutely & positively that this could be happening in real life.
Loved it – Loved it – Loved it!
We don’t get many movies out here, so I’m hoping yall can keep me up to date with which films to put in the Netflix cue.
What movie would you recommend?
[FYI - I'll be back blogging about the Korean life tomorrow. For now at least, it feels like a normal Friday night back home & I just wanted to share.]

Cleaner (Samuel L Jackson). Very cool with a great twist at the end.
