Although it’s Saturday morning here, the 12th of September, at home it’s 9/11 – Patriot’s Day.
And I almost completely forgot it.
I’ve been in Korea 4 months now and walking everyday among the turning fields of rice, it’s becoming harder to remember the fields of turning grass at our last post in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Watching them pump the rice fields with fertilizer…

…tends to make me forget about the pumping oil wells that dot the landscape back home.

The bound & drying buckwheat…

…has taken the place of the bound & bailed hay.

And Mr. Goat has become the only kind of ”longhorn”…

…I see on a regular basis.

Being removed from home is beginning to make me forget….and making me a little homesick.
But I didn’t come all this way to Korea only to spend my time here sulking & longing for home.
So I’m going to embrace my time in Korea….even with all it’s idiosyncrasies.
And I’m going to drag you along with me…kicking & screaming, if need be.
If I have to learn all this stuff, then so do you.
And it starts tomorrow.
Today is for remembering home & remembering what happened 8 years ago.

If you ever need a reminder of Oklahoma you’re always welcome to visit my blog. We live about an hour and a half from Broken Arrow.
I love seeing Korea through your eyes/photos. And I am always interested in what Maggie Moo’s been up to!
Take care.
I love it. Each post is as you promise and I can’t wait. I really have to hand it to you though. I just don’t know if I could handle it….being so far away from home with the language barrier and all. I never was very adventurous. But I sure am really to learn about other customs and lifestyles!! (as long as I can do it from my desk chair in my den. LOL)
