Not every woman is a flower.

Some are rocks and trees and rivers and mountains.

ButĀ that doesn’t stopĀ a rock…

…from wishing it was a flower.

What would we build nations on if we did not have rocks? Rocks are cornerstones and foundations. Rocks are the foundation of faith. Daimonds are rocks that have been squeezed by pressure into things of enduring beauty that ephemeral flowers could only dream of. Rocks are permanent, solid, lasting, and yes lovely.
….and don’t forget about the flowers who wish they were rocks, trees, mountains or streams. I’ve found….since I’ve lived so long and I’m wise…(ahem)….that most women are all of those things. We all have an inner strength but some women just don’t realize it and, therefore, fail to call upon it.
I’ve been thinking about the black dog you’ve been feeding….how is he?
I agree, Val. When you think of the many “hats” most women are expected to wear, you can see all those qualities. Many are the only “rock solid” thing in their kids’ lives, and find themselves forced to “go with the flow”. Most can “rise” to any occasion needed, be it being “strong” enough to care of a handicapped child day in and day out, or being the “delicate flower” for their husbands. While we have good “roots”, we are required to be flexible enough to bend with whatever wind blows our way. And with enough time and the right pressures, we will hopefully come out being those diamonds and not sandstone!
