No matter how many times we go over this

waiting-1

Yesterday I pretty much had my head down the whole day trying to knock out client work before I close up shop for a much needed winter break.

When I finally looked up from the computer I realized how late it was.

Eric wasn’t home from work yet & Maggie was staring longingly at the empty fireplace.

Moo-Moo, what’s wrong?

‘I’m bored….I miss Daddy…Where is he?…Why isn’t he home yet?’

Daddy’s working late again tonight, Moo-Moo. He’ll be home when he’s home.

‘But why isn’t he home now?…I miss him….I want him to play with me.’

He has to work, Sweetie. We’ve talked about this.

He’s got an important job now – he’s running maintenance AND he’s the platoon sargeant - in charge of 53 soldiers.

That’s a lot of work to do every day.

‘Uuuggghhhh…..I hate work.’

I know…working’s not fun. But it keeps us warm, keeps us fed & keeps pig ears in the house.

waiting-3

‘Oh….When’s Daddy gonna be home?’
