Thank you to everyone who replied & emailed well wishes for my mom.
She made it through surgery without issue & will be in the hospital another day or so.
It’s because she’s on blood thinners – her levels have to be monitored closely to prevent another stroke. But then she’ll be heading home where my sister will stay with her for the first several days.

SOOOO glad she is doing better! I know it must be really hard to be so far away. But your prayers and our God are close!
Jennifer,
That sounds like coumadin. Am I right? I was in charge of 120 coumadin patients at Ft. Leonard Wood. That included teaching people the ins and outs of the medication and the diet (You have to be somewhat particular about the types of food you eat that may contain too much vitamin K. Vitamin K thickens the blood).
Mostly, it wasn’t the food that bothered people. It was certain types of antibiotics or medications that unknowingly got prescribed for people. Some sent their coumadin levels way to high or way too low.
How long will your mom have to be on it? Hope she is doing better. I know it must be hard not to be with her.
Blessings,
