Last night was Freedom Fest at Camp Humphreys.
And among the American holidays celebrated here, this one’s the biggest.
It was a great experience with a few great pictures to share – along with this video – but I’m still not exactly sure how I want to tell the story of it.
But for now, I thought you would enjoy a quick glimpse of the traditional Korean drum troop that performed.
It goes a little fuzzy in the middle for a sec, but it will clear up again.
Enjoy! And I hope you had a great Fourth!
(And yes, I’ll pick up the story of the gift tomorrow.)

Jenn,
Hi. I have been reading your blog for about a week. My daughter is in the Army in Korea. She arrived in mid-May. My son-in-law and their border collie/pointer, Oreo, joined her last week. I found your blog while trying to find out what life in Korea is like.
I told my daughter about your blog and your dog, Moo. I hope you get to meet them. I think Oreo would like Moo. Oreo is a very gentle dog that doesn’t bark, chew or bite. I miss them.
Hi there again, we didn’t go to the actual festivities that night. We hung out at the entrance to Longbow Gate & watched the fireworks. I got eaten up by the mosquitoes pretty badly, but the fireworks were nice. Next year I will definitely jump on that bus & head to the main gate!!
