This is Bocephus.
He’s the bulldog that lived next door to us.
And when he & Maggie met, it was obviously they would be BFF’s.
- They both had stubby noses.
- They both had wrinkled faces.
- They both were “big-boned”.
- And…they both played at the same speed.
A quick run around! Then 5 seconds later…crash on the floor, completely exhausted.
Bocephus & his mom flew back to the states last week to spend time with family before they PCS to their next duty station.
PCS – Permanent Change of Station: The official Army term for, ‘Hey you! Now that you’re nice & comfortable with your environment we’re packing you up & shipping you off somewhere else.”
Generally, the Army gives you 3 years at a base before they move you out. They’ve talked for years about transitioning to a 7 year rotation – to help military kids adjust better- but nothing’s ever come of it.
I just wish Maggie & Bocephus had more time together. It’s not often that she meets a friend that plays at her speed.
