There's a new dog walker in town

custodian-1

When we first arrived in Korea, everyone was afraid of Maggie – including the custodian.

But as he began to realize she wasn’t going to swallow him whole, his fear turned into fascination.

custodian-3

And for months he’s been trying to convince Maggie that he’s not going to swallow her whole.

custodian-4

Slowly turning her fear turned into fascination.

custodian-5

Before yesterday, their exchanges have been a kind of dance…with Maggie jumping & bowing – just out of reach and the custodian smiling & trying to reach out to pet her.

custodian-6

But yesterday that all changed.

As we headed out for our walk past his house, the custodian came out & motioned for the leash.

custodian-7

At first I thought he just wanted to hold onto her, but as Maggie took off he continued behind her.

He laughed & pointed out her wiggle-walk, saying “left right left right” in his best English.

She tugged on him a few times making me cringe at the thought of her running off with him dragging on the ground behind her.

But he walked her all the way to the Lumber Barons before handing the leash back to me & going off to visit them.

So I got a little bit of a reprieve…and he finally got to get close to Maggie.

One lonely response

Jenn, perhaps they will develope a working relationship and he will take her for her walks and you won’t have to. Is Maggie shy toward everyone? Our Aussie isn’t agressive, but he is very reserved. He’s fine if no one will try and pet him; if they do he will let out a slow growl and get up and leave. Our mastiff was extremely friendly.
    I’m assuming Maggie is young?

So What Do You Think?
